The story of The Alberni Project and the HMCS ALBERNI Museum and Memorial is an interesting story of its own.

A Remembrance Program and Museum operated by

The Alberni Project Society which brings attention to the lives and stories of Canadians who served with Canada's military from the Great War of 1914 - 1918 to the present day.

The Canadian Flower Class corvette and the German Type VII submarine crossed paths in the English Channel in 1944.

Walk down the brick alleyway where you will find the small and intimate museum tucked away in downtown Courtenay BC Canada

Can't get to HAMM?  Perhaps you might visit our mobile Memorial and Exhibit in a town near you. Or sponsor TAP to come to your town.

Discover - Reflect - Remember

The HMCS ALBERNI Museum and Memorial is dedicated to preserving the memory of those who served onboard the corvette HMCS ALBERNI during WWII. This Canadian warship was sunk by the German submarine U480 off the Isle of Wight, with the loss of 59 brave men.

Our mission is to honour their memory and through

this focus, we also pay tribute to all the sailors, soldiers,

and aviators who have served and continue to serve our

country. The artefacts and stories of these individuals

offer visitors a glimpse of the selfless sacrifice that has

defined Canada's past, present, and future.
